Leh
is the capital of Ladakh region of
Jammu and Kashmir State, a small picturesque
town of about 27,000 people, situated
at 3500 Mt. (11483 ft).The summer
days are dry and sunny but nights
can be cold. A double line of "Manies",
stone shelters for departed spirits,
protects the town’s approaches.
During our stay, we will explore some
of the most interesting monasteries,
local culture and the unique landscape. |

DAY 01 / 04. LEH –
DISKET (Nubra Valley) Via Khardungla
Pass (5602 M.) Drive 110 Km. |
After an early breakfast, leave for
Nubra valley, The road passé
over Khardungla, pass, believed to
be the highest motor able mountain
pass. The drive and and down on the
side of Nubra provides excellent panoramic
view of high mountain peaks, Leh and
Nubra valley. By late afternoon, we
arrive Disket and check-in a Guest
house / Camp. Later we explore the
Hunder, Sand Dunes and enjoy a short
camel ride with double hump bacterian
camel.

02 / 05. IN DISKET Visit Panamik area
Drive 120 Km (Round Trip) |
After
breakfast, we leave for day long tour,
first we explore the Disket monastery,
then drive to other part of Nubra
valley, Panamik where we will visit
Samthanling monastery and Hot sulphur
springs, in the evening return to
Disket. |

DAY 03 / 06. DISKET
– LEH 110 Km Drive |
After
breakfast, we drive back to Leh, over
Khardungla pass, arrive Leh in the
late afternoon and check-in the hotel.
Evening at leisure for shopping and
personal activities. The Leh bazaar
dazzles with local and Kashmiri handicrafts. |

04 / 07. LEH - PANGONG LAKE - LEH
Drive 290 Km (Round Trip) |
After
an early breakfast, set out for a
long day tour to one of the longest
high altitude lakes, the Pangong at
the height of 4550m. The road winds
over 17350 ft high Changla Pass, where
the weather could turn hostile any
time of hot summer. The water of the
Lake changes its hue and colour often.
This lakes only about 40% is in India,
other part in Tibet (China). After
enjoying the beauty of this mesmerizing
lake, we return to our hotel in Leh.

DAY 01. ARRIVE SRINAGAR

Arrive
Srinagar airport / Bus terminal, after
meet and greet by local tour manger
transfer to houseboat / Hotel. Rest
of the day at leisure. Evening a short
Shikara ride over Dal Lake. |

DAY 02. IN SRINAGAR |
Morning
half day Mughal Garden tour includes
Shankraya Temple, Nishat, laid over
7 terraces, built by Empress Nur Jahan’s
brother Asaf Khan and Shalimar laid
by Jehangir, the Mughal emperor. Cheshmashahi
(Royal Springs) has only three terraces
in addition to natural spring of water
enclosed in a stone pavilion. (subject
to permission). Return to houseboat
for lunch. Afternoon Shikara ride
through back waters of Dal Lake to
witness the life on small islands
and have a close look at floating
gardens. |

03. SRINAGAR – GULMARG (2730
Mt.) – SRINAGAR Drive 56 Km. |
Full
day excursion of Gulmarg the - meadow
of flowers. Surrounded by snow capped
mountains and during a clear day Nanga
Parbat can be seen from here. Gulmarg
has one of the world’s highest
18 hole golf course. During winter
it turns into India’s premiere
skiing centre with international standard
facilities. The activities include
short treks, pony ride and Gandola
ride to upper reachs of Gulmarg. Evening
return to Srinagar. |

DAY 04. SRINAGAR –
KARGIL (2650 Mt.) Drive 204 Km |
Early
morning depart and drive towards Kargil.
After 96 Km drive, we arrive Sonmarg
located on Srinagar – Leh road
at an altitude of 2700 Mt. we halt
here for tea and snacks before climbing
Zojila pass (3531 Mt.). From the verdant
forested hill side above Sonmarg,
through the hair-raising twists and
turns after Zojila climb, still carpeted
with wild flowers, one passes into
an immense landscape of jagged barren
rock. We arrive Drass in late afternoon;
it is the first major town and believe
to be the second coldest inhabited
place in the world. Another 60 Km
drive from here takes us to Kargil
the district headquarters at an altitude
of 2650 Mt. Kargil has become very
popular destination for home tourist
since 1999 conflict between India
and Pakistan. Arrive Kargil in the
evening and check in at hotel. |

DAY 05. IN KARGIL |
Today
we will explore Kargil and if time
allows drive out some kilometers to
get view of snow covered peaks Nun
(7100 Mt.) and Kun (7070 Mt.). Overnight
hotel. |

DAY 06. KARGIL –
LEH (3505 Mt. )Drive 230 Km |
Morning
depart and drive towards Leh. After
a short distance we arrive Mulbekh,
the first Budhist town with the giant
statue of the Maitreya, the Buddha
to come. The Buddhist houses can be
recognized by their prayer flags on
their roofs. From here we gradually
climb Namikala pass (3,728 Mt.) and
from there we descend into Bodh Kharbo
valley before climbing the highest
pass on this route Fotula (4,102 Mt.).
From here some 14 km drive takes us
to Lamayuru Monastery, one of the
oldest in Ladakh. After exploring
Lamayuru the road drops to the Gorge
of the Yarpala River, and your driver
will display amazing skill in ‘making‘
an amazingly sharp and seemingly endless
series of hairpin turns down the face
of the Gorge, and we are in Khalsi,
here we stop for a cup of tea before
driving the final stretch of the journey
to Leh via Saspol. Arrive Leh in the
evening and check in at hotel. |

DAY 07. IN LEH |
Morning
depart for full day sightseeing of
Shey Palace – Shey was once
the capital of Ladakh in the pre –
Tibetan era until the 15th century.
Thiksey – Tsong Khapa had prophesied
that a monastery would be built here
and Thiksey was founded by one of
his disciple and Hemis - largest monastery
founded in 1602 by Tagtsangrepa. Return
to Leh in the afternoon and rest of
the day at leisure. |

DAY
08 . LEH – KHARDUNGLA PASS (5602
M.) – LEH Drive 85 Km |
After
an early breakfast leave for day excursion
of Khardungla. From Leh the road gradually
climbs Khardugla Pass (5602 M.) via
number of picturesque villages. Khardungla
is believed to be the one of the highest
motor-able pass in the World, it commands
panoramic view of Stok Kangri and
surrounding peaks. Usually this pass
remains under snow round the year
and leads to more tropical Nubra valley.
After enjoying thrilling experience
visiting the pass, we return to Leh
and stroll through bustling Bazar
for shopping. |

DAY 09 . DEPARTURE |
Transfer to the airport
for onward journey. |
